Customer FAQs

What sets PhotoMission apart from other stock photo agencies?

We serve the needs of a niche market, that is customers who are looking for outstanding imagery to visually support the growth of God’s Kingdom.

All photos found on this site have been taken by photographers who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  And because of this connection, their view of the world is profound and their imagery mirrors God’s heart.

What are the demographics of your selling photographers?

PhotoMission photographers live around the world with all of them serving Christ through their employment or on the mission field. Our corporate intention is to help supplement their financial health through the sale of their photography, enabling them to remain in place.

Do you sell subscriptions?

Photos sold are on a per image basis and are not sold on a subscription basis. We believe in building loyalty to our brand one customer at a time, one image at a time.

What guides your business model?

Our interest is to serve all stakeholders according to biblical principles. For us, this means the photographer receives a “more generous than most” commission and the customer is rewarded with premium imagery that is often difficult to find elsewhere on the web.

Is membership required to purchase images?

No. However if you want to become a subscriber, please refer to the Join page for the benefits we offer.

What browsers are compatible with this website?

We’ve worked hard to ensure that PhotoMission.com is compatible with all “modern” browsers. The best way to experience the site is to use the most recent version of your favorite browser with JavaScript and cookies enabled.

I am storing images in a Lightbox. How long will the images remain there?

You need to register in order to save images in a Lightbox. Once saved, we’ll store your selections for future visits.

Is all PhotoMission photography offered Royalty-Free?

Yes. Doing so allows us to provide unique images inexpensively. Exclusive rights can be arranged upon request. We do not research images on our customers’ behalf, nor do we contact photographers with specific requests.

Are photos model-released?

Not always. Some photographers choose to accept all liability for images that have not received the proper release. This is the result of the unique circumstances of each image. Please review the License Agreement carefully to understand your rights and responsibilities as a purchaser of PhotoMission images.

Which currency do you use for payment?

We charge only in USD. If you are making a purchase in a country other than the United States, the conversion to your local currency is completed by your credit card company at the time of purchase.

How do you protect my credit card information?

PhotoMission processes your payment information through our secure checkout system. No credit card information is stored on our servers.

Can I download a thumbnail and use it in a comp?

Yes. You’re welcome to use watermarked images for comping purposes.

What is your refund policy?

Since the actual image and image size information are available to you, and because of the general nature of digital photography, we regret that we cannot provide refunds.

How do I contact customer support?

You can reach PhotoMission by email, using the form found on the Contact Us page or by calling the toll-free number: 888.227.0155 (US only).

Photographer FAQs

What is required to sell stock photography with PhotoMission?

Because PhotoMission exists to support the growth of God’s Kingdom, all photographers who sell photography on this site reflect a personal relationship with their Creator God. In the use of their gear, this relationship is vital as we work to provide images to other Christians. So first, you agree to write and submit your personal testimony of faith using the guidelines found on our registration page.

Next, you must know how to take good stock photography. Make sure your photos are clear, crisp, well composed, well lit and most importantly, free of digital noise caused by high ISO, underexposure, long exposures and over-processing.

What other guidelines can you provide for the kinds of images you sell on PhotoMission?

Your photography must be of the highest caliber and commercially in demand by Christian publishers, designers, worship leaders and multimedia professionals.

Always adhere to the five main search categories when preparing your images for upload. If your photo does not comfortably fit into one of these categories and you upload it anyway, it will be denied.

If you do not post-process your photography, it will be denied.

What file sizes can I upload?

We can accept JPEG images as large as 4,350×3,263 pixels. If your file is smaller than 4,350×3,263, we can still sell it at reduced sizes.

Please be sure to save your JPEGs as Baseline.

What if I want to sell the same photos at multiple stock agencies?

We refer you to the terms and conditions found in the Photographer Agreement.

How much does PhotoMission pay its selling photographers?

We pay a commission of 60% on each sale. Commissions are paid monthly and are processed through PayPal.

What if I am unable to use PayPal in my country?

Contact us at info@photomission.com BEFORE you register to become a selling photographer. We regret we are unable to pay directly to a bank account, either in the United States or outside of it.

When do I need to use a model release?

If the images that you are submitting have an identifiable human face, then you will need a model release. Model releases for adults and for children are provided on the site and once signed, you, as the photographer, will upload the release at the same time that you upload the image.

All signed model releases are stored on the site for future reference.

If you don’t have a signed model release where one is required, you agree to fully indemnify PhotoMission, Inc. according to the legally binding contract (i.e., Photographer Agreement) you tick at the time you register.

I’m trying to register as a photographer, but it’s not working. What should I do?

Be sure to follow all the instructions on the registration page. Also, be sure that the images you’re uploading do not exceed 640 pixels wide and that they are in JPG file format. When you submit your registration and agree to the Photographer’s Agreement, please be patient while your images upload and your submission is processed. Clicking or typing during the upload process could accidentally cancel your submission. You will receive a confirmation page after you’ve successfully sent your registration.

I completed the registration, but I haven’t received a reply. What should I do?

Be patient. We receive many requests and do our best to review as many as possible as quickly as possible. If you’ve not received a reply in two weeks, please contact us at info@photomission.com.

I’m trying to upload images for sale, but it’s not working. What’s wrong?

Be sure you’re following the requirements contained on the image upload page. Some photographers have better results when they upload one image at a time. If you’re still having problems after several attempts, please email us at info@photomission.com.

How do I change my screen name?

Because screen names and image names are tied together on our site, we regret that such a change is not possible once your registration is complete.
